i have been struggling… maybe im a dunce. i was using vivado on the au ver1 and it was going good untill … i could not get vivado to utilize the the pins from chip bank 34. i spent a few days trying different things and studying (wasted alot of time). i finally went back to my boards origin and used lucid and alchitry to make a pin finder circuit. so… it still does not utilize the bank c pins c39,40,12,11,14,15,17,18,20,… the ones from i/o bank 34 in the chip. (looks like it still does not function even after using lucid) any one know the story? im loosing my mind. help a guy out.
These pins are the dual-voltage ones. They default to 3.3v as long as you don’t touch the VBSEL pin on port D.
Maybe something is missing the constraint file?
It’s possible your board has a defect. The voltage selector on the V1 boards is tiny and it’s possible it wasn’t soldered correctly. I changed the selector on the V2 boards to one that is easier to solder and visually check.
Assuming you have a multimeter, check the voltage across this capacitor on the back.
It should be 3.3V or 1.8V (if VBSEL is pulled high).
It if isn’t 3.3V, contact SparkFun for a replacement board.
i would not know if there is something missing… i don’t know? what all should be there in the first place? in alchitry i simply added the definitions to the .acf file. ill try to include my elementary files and please tell me what im missing? I would sure like to begin to enjoy a long complicated verilog design session, but these basic issues still keep my attention. look at these … Link to 2 items. very simple. whats missing?
The files are OK, I was suggesting this because Vivado does not use ACF anymore and you have to map the Alchitry pin names to the FPGA chip names manually.
But since you tried with Alchitry and the files are good, chances are that it’s an hardware issue as @alchitry suggests.
OMG!!, I have wasted so much time on this … now it turns out yes, the board is defective. I’m speechless to describe my frustration and disappointment. bah. ill never get back those lost hours. ugggg!!!
