Compatibility Check: Alchitry Au V2 and Br V2 for Robotics Project

Hello Alchitry Team / Community,

I recently purchased the Alchitry Au V2 and I am planning to build an autonomous robot (SLAM/Computer Vision).

To connect my external hardware, I need a breakout solution. My components are:

  • 2x Servos (HS-65MG+ and PowerHD 1501 MG)

  • 1x TF-Luna Benewake ToF Sensor

I am looking at the Alchitry Br V2. Could you please confirm the following:

  1. Is the Alchitry Br V2 the correct and only compatible breakout board for the Au V2 (Artix 7)?

  2. Does it stack directly on top of the Au V2 using the high-density connectors, or is an additional cable required?

  3. Are there different versions of the Br V2 I should be aware of?

Since I am importing these to Germany and customs duties are quite high, I want to make sure I order the exact matching hardware.

Best regards

The Br board simply breaks out all the IO pins on the high density headers to 0.1” holes. For V2 boards, you need a V2 Br. So, yes, it’s the correct board.

The Br stacks directly on top of the Au/Cu/Pt (or bottom of the Pt). No extra cables or connections.

The Br comes in both the standard and wide variants. They’re electrically the same but the wide version is easier to solder to if you don’t need the smaller footprint as all the holes are outside. This makes vertical clearance, especially between the Au and Br not an issue. (There’s only about 1.5mm of clearance between them).

Hope this helps!
