Instructions to install Vivado 2024.1 to used with AU board

I have an AU board that I tinkered with 4-5 years ago. My old laptop died and I want to get start working with the AU again on my new Win 11 laptop.

I’ve installed Vivado 2024.1. The tutorial instructions appear to be out of date.

I want to develop standard Verilog to be compatible with my work environment.

Is there an updated tutorial for completing the installation process?

Thank you, phil

Hello,

I’m using Vivado 2024.1 with my AU.
The WebPack Edition does not exist anymore and the Standard Edition is now free.

In the installer, after logging in to your account.

  1. Pick the “Vivado” entry and click Next
  2. Pick “Vivado ML Standard” and click Next
    1. Untick Vitis Model Composer (you probably won’t need unless you are a professional)
    2. If you plan to use soft-processor (MicroBlaze), you need to tick “Vitis Embedded Development”
    3. In the “Devices” section, you can untick everything but Artix-7 (in the “7 Series”).

Then you should be ready to go

EDIT: Sorry I missread that you already have Vivado installed.
There is no additionnal setup steps unless you want your AU to be detected within Vivado (can be very usefull since it allows to use the ILA IP, and allows to program the FPGA without leaving Vivado, but you still need the Alchitry Loader to program the embedded flash).

gc74,

Thanks for the info! Will give it a try!

I forgot to tell that if you use only Vivado, you need to enable the BIN file generation in you Vivavo project to use with the Loader.
