Been into electronics since about the sixth grade. Dabbled with the 8080 in college, started my career at Intel just after it released the 8086. Got into ECL logic design for microprocessor ATE equipment, then joined MIPs, and eventually SGI. Used PLDs and designed a couple small gate arrays. Used CPLDs in developing broadband telecom equipment. Worked on storage servers at Sun and then ran with a couple startups that busted. Did some hardware design at Verifone then at Micron. I’m currently a principal engineer at Microchip. Been wanting to refresh my FPGA/Verilog skills using the Alchitry AU board.
